About Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan (formerly — Mission E) is an all-electric 4-door coupe from Porsche, which was unveiled as a concept car at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The first Porsche's fully electric car is expected to go into production at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen plant in 2019. E-Performance, Porsche style. Integrated in a harmonious overall concept. Porsche Taycan sets the stage for tomorrow. With its design and its technology, it provides answers to the question of the sports car of the future.
Compact electric motors, no combustion engine, no exhaust system, no transmission tunnel. Plenty of opportunities to question and rethink previous forms. Result: a flow-through body, totally geared towards performance.
The fast roofline, together with the side window line in typical Porsche style, render Taycan undeniably Porsche in profile. Counter-opening doors provide an unimpaired view of a monocoque-like structure and allow easy entry.
The absence of a transmission tunnel opens up cabin space and imparts a lighter, more generously proportioned ambient feeling. The four individual seats are inspired by bucket-type racing seats, thus saving weight and giving all passengers the appropriate lateral support to match the driving dynamics of the car.
The system voltage: 800V. Uncommon. 400V would be common. But what’s common about a Porsche? With Porsche Turbo Charging, charging with 800V at DC charging stations is considerably faster than usual – 80% of the maximum charge level in less than 15 minutes.
