About VW ID.3
GENERAL
The Volkswagen I.D3 is an all-electric hatchback based on the MEB platform, and part of the I.D. series. It was first shown as a prototype at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. A production version of the vehicle based on this prototype will be launched in 2020.DESIGN
Active Info Display and head-up display are already available in some of Volkswagen’s advanced models. The concept I.D. plans to offer even more: no switches, no sticks, just screens. Designers intend to build the concept I.D. according to a new vehicle architecture, developed exclusively for all-electric vehicles. The concept I.D. embodies a new design language. Central to that is the importance of space. The concept I.D. car’s steering wheel, which can retract into the instrument panel, could also work with automated driving technology in the future.PERFORMANCE
Powered by a 125 kW (168hp) electric motor, the concept I.D. could make zero-tailpipe emission driving more widely available.Videos Reviews
